Chanel Cupcakes

Pictures taken from my friend's iphone. Love the effects.

Picture taken from my regular camera.

2 variations of cupcakes - vanilla cupcakes with strawberry buttercream and red velvet cupcakes with chocolate ganache.

Macaroons!

Im not a big fan of macaroons but since i have been back in Singapore, everyone has been asking me if i could bake them. I have tried a couple of times but somehow they didn't seem perfect.

Until recently, i came across a recipe adapted from the famous Pierre Herme who has the best macaroons.

And this was the result.

Perfect! every single one of them. But some friends found them too sweet...sigh..singaporeans..whats a dessert when they ain't sweet. So guess i would be making another batch soon for some sampling of wedding favors. And make sure i adjust the sweetness..:p

Mercedes CLC series

So i received a very challenging project. To make a cake in a shape of a car..specifically a Mercedes CLC series. I was apprehensive but cos the customer was a friend, i just took the challenge.

But the day before the time of delivery, i was down with a fever of 38degrees. Its been 2 years since i visited the doctor but i had to cos i kept having fever.

To cut the story short, i had to call in my friend to help me with the cake but structurely it didn't hold very well and the back of the boot was screwed to the side. Anyway at least the front and the sides didn't look that bad. :)

1st photo shoot - Mango Madness

Finally got a chance to do a official photo shoot. It wasn't perfect but i think it was a good first try.

I only had 1 and a half day to do all the products from scratch. My good friend helped me with the taking of the pictures cos i was busy finishing them up.

Chloe Bag

My friend wanted to make this chloe look alike cake for her sister's birthday so she asked me if i could help. Of cos i was excited to dive into the challenge.

The cake was suppose to be taller but the base wasn't able to support the height so we had to trim it down alot.

I think my friend did an awesome job in mixing the right color for the bag. She also made the little intricate buckles at the top and base of the pouch.

I personally liked my zipper though the only thing you can see from this picture is the zipper tag.

One thing to remind everyone when you order a fondant cake is to never put the cake in the fridge cos when you take it out, it will cause the fondant to "sweat" and the fondant may tear off. Keep it in a cool and dry place. Air conditioned environment is preferred. :)

Breakfast and Tiffany

Need i say more?

Every gal's dream box. And one of my favourite colours - Turquoise. I mixed Teal and alittle bit of green to get the colour. Everyone was pretty impressed by how i got it. So there you go..

My customer found it too sweet though cos it had 2 layers of fondant. But the birthday gal loved the box and even asked if they could lift the cover up.

The ribbons were done 2 days before. Using gum paste, i left them to dry between cellophane plastic so they had lovely curls.

Tiger Lily Cake

This is the profile: Birthday gal is in her 80s, non conventional, love beautiful things and chocolate.

So i took this chance to try my gum paste techniques and think i did a pretty decent job on those lilies.

And guess what! The birthday gal wore the exact same purple dress for dinner.
BULL'S EYE!

3 tier cake

My good friend requested me to make her a musical note cake so i conceptualised this 3 tier cake. And you know what she asked me when i showed her the cake? "Where's the musical note?" I nearly fainted...

Anyway if you think your eyes are playing tricks on you. Don't worry, they ain't. It s a topsy curvy cake. But im afraid the top one is too straight. :(

But i still love this cool cake.

Strawberry Shortcake

A delectable strawberry cake layered with vanilla sponge, strawberry jam, strawberries and fresh whipped cream. I love the ribbon. :)

Badminton cake

Bought a set of alphabetic cutters so was excited to use them.. Gave a very uniformed look :)

Another wine bottle

Made another wine bottle cake. This time i glazed the bottle so it looks shiny. The bottle was too "fat" so had to create a small wooden box to support the bottle neck.

Baby Full Month Celebration

A dear friend gave me a chance to produce her baby's full month cakes. So of course i jumped at it. Her full month cakes consisted of simple classic butter marble cakes and cutely decorated cupcakes.

Manchester United!!

Received a request to make a Manchester United cake based on another cake picture my customer had provided. After delivering the cake and posting this pic on my facebook, friends have told me that the logo is missing something....the sailboat!
Oh well hope my customer's bf won't notice it.

Princess Barbie Cake

Ive finally gotten a chance to make a princess cake. And seriously it wasn't all that difficult.
Although many people have given me the "wows" and are impressed on how much effort i've placed on it, the piping took me about half an hr.

And you know what was the most difficult part of the cake? Tying the barbie's hair! I had a hard time getting it neatly tied up.

Wine Bottle Cake

Made a wine bottle cake for a customer's 50th birthday. Both the box and bottle were made of chocolate cake. The box was made with chocolate and the "stuffings" were sliced almonds. Decorated with fondant grapes and vines for the classy vineyard look.
